Of course I don’t mind telling you. After all, that is the purpose of my blog. Alex started his life with sever asthma in and out of hospitals. The time he was ten years old he had severe GERD which preceded an esophagectomy with a portion of his colon put in his place. From then on he was unable to eat and had a G-tube placed in his stomach. Later he was diagnosed with severe narcolepsy. So you can see why this blog is so important to me. To help children with chronic illnesses and their families. Thank you for asking.

I am so sorry. Poor guy, he really did have to suffer. GERD is no fun and especially to have the problems he had along with it. He was very lucky to have you as his mother.
I have GERD and had surgery done in my stomach. I think they pulled part of my stomach up or something. It has been awhile.

Lovely. I read your “Who is Alex” post as well. I am sorry for your loss but glad that you have thirty years of wonderful memories to hold on to. He sounds like an amazing, talented guy. How lucky you were to have been his mother, and how lucky he to have a mother with such capacity for love.
